Found a link to mydeathspace.com It is a site featuring my space people that have died. I was surprised how long I spent there.
Crystal Ball: Twins Baseball

The Twins go into the season with playoff aspirations despite being in a tough division (defending World Champion Chicago and super HOCAH squad Cleveland) and an even tougher league (nine teams-by my count-CHI,CLE,MIN,NYY,BOS,OAK,LAA,TOR,maybe TEX?-have legit playoff thoughts).

Gardy trusts his expert baseball instincts and after some trial and error in the beginning of the season and a respectable start by all accounts, he settles on a lineup that looks like this:

1. Denard Span CF
2. Juan Castro SS
3. Lew Ford LF
4. Mike Cuddyer DH
5. Rob Bowen C
6. Luis Rodriguez 3B
7. Nick Punto 2b
8. Brett Abernathy (reacquired) 1b
9. Jason Tyner RF

Bench: Switch-Hitting Masher Ruben Sierra, HR/RBI Machine Tony Batista, Leadoff/great glove man Shannon Stewart and laser hitting infielder Glenn Williams

Gardy is thrilled with his new lineup, claiming that "he will beat the White Soz at their own game" and that the lineup is filled with "guys that do the little things right, play good fundamental baseball and are good with the leather".

After a decent start with Mauer, Morneau, Hunter, et. al the Twins end up winning 52 games, 20 of them before the lineup changes, and 30 of the remaining 32 on ridiculous pitching performances.

They still finish ahead of the Royals, who they managed to beat 17 of 19 games, meaning they got over 30% of their victories against them.

Gardy is rewarded with a 5 year contract extension and announces a new sports consulting service with partners Kevin McHale, Dan Monson and Mike Tice.

So, there have been no new posts here in a while, and none by myself in almost a month. What gives? Where have I been? Don't I have anything to say? Well, actually, at the moment I don't. The last 2 to 3 weeks have found me holed up in my room for the most part, trying to figure out if Felix Hernandez is going to be the real deal this season or not. I've been crunching ZiPS, PECOTA and the MARCELS. I've been balls deep in VORP and "tiering strategies." I've been taking an interest in the Baltimore Orioles' new pitching coach and the success that he brings to his staff. I've read four books in the last two weeks, none of which could be considered important to the literary community. I've been neglecting work, instead doing post-draft team rankings that take me the better part of a work day to calculate.

In short, I've been in nerd land.

So, lots of research done, some money spent (right around $45.00-The fantasy sports collective do a very good job at not showing you good information unless you pay for it. Another boat I missed out on... the massive industry of "expert" fantasy advice.), personal time invested, and what have I gotten out of it? Not a whole lot. I guess the thing about predicting what baseball players are going to do in an upcoming season is that it is a prediction, and nothing more. I guess I now know the pitching rotations and depth charts of most major league teams. I had a draft last Saturday and believe I did pretty well. Who knows though. My second baseman could be just as likely to hit the hash-pipe and knock a chick up while at the same time blowing his knee apart, thus ruining all of the stolen bases and triples I am hoping he will get me than he is to actually hit all the numbers he is projected to.

My yahoo! fantasy home page reads like a grocery list- A football league from last season, hockey, basketball, golf, two baseball leagues and two NCAA brackets. I spent around one hour today just going through all of my various lineups, playoff possiblities and golf strategies. Fantasy football is pretty cool, and it's easy to follow because everyone just plays on sundays, and hockey has been fun this year, although it would be even better if the whole league didn't have all-star teams, but baseball always seems to be my favorite. I am a two-time fantasy football champion (I really like saying that), but I have never won a fantasy baseball league, maybe that's the reason for the extra effort this year. It's just that all of this baseball stuff is so damn interesting. No other sport lends itself to numbers like baseball. Stuff like this, and this, and this, there is so much of it, everywhere, that after a long time of reading it you forget what you are actually reading about (baseball), like when you go to a movie and they play 20 minutes worth of credits and you forget what movie you went to watch in the first place.

Well, I'll cut it short for now, I have some more shit to read. Hopefully I'll start contributing to this wonderful piece of internet a little more, and I'm sure I'll keep you posted on my progress this season, whether you want me to or not.

Looks like the only thing funny on SNL anymore are the music videos. A few of us saw this one the other night but here it is for those that missed it.

Apparently NBC was bitching because some other sites were hosting it. NBC's quote
"Now, instead of searching the web for "borrowed" NBC highlights, you can go to the source! We've taken your viral favorites and gathered them into one convenient location. Watch. React. Tell a friend."
Some people on Boing Boing pointed out that the skit "borrowed" elements from Eazy-E and Sir Mix-A-Lot. Not that the rappers should care, seeing as they sampled from other artists to make their songs as well.

High school hockey tourney starts on Thursday. I'm starting a pool. $5 gets you in, winner takes all. Class AA quarterfinal games start at 2pts per correct game and point values double for each subsequent round (third place game is 4 pts, consolation games are 2pts for the first round and 4pts for the consolation championship). Class A point values are half of AA values. Tiebreaker will be total number of goals scored by both teams in the Class AA championship game.

The brackets can be found here. Just e-mail me your picks along with your tiebreaker. Don't forget to give me consolation bracket and third place game picks. Teeblah, you get in for free since I owe you money. May the best man win.

Probably could have put all of this in one post...

Anyways heading to the section 3AA finals tonight at the Le Coliseum. Bus leaves my house around 5:30. Blaine vs Wayzata at 6 and then what we alll been waiting for WBL v Hill at 8.

For those who might cry about going to both games, good luck getting a seat after 7pm, the place is going to be packed.
Oh and apparently there are a couple of response to the Narnia Rap.

First the West Coast retort. Lazy Monday
Then the midwest has got to get in. Lazy Muncie

Too bad neither of them are funny. The funniness was what I liked about the first one. Oh well.
Couple of ridiculous articles on the front page of Netscape today.
